Chili, Laundry and Dog Play in the New Year

Happy New Year from The Unexamined Dog(s)!

January 1, 2012 was productive yet relaxing, and entirely uneventful.  (Translation: No unexpected trips to the vet like last Friday’s bloody massacre/nail clipping.)

I cleaned the house, watched mindless movie marathons on cable, and made an outstanding batch of Black Bean, Sweet Potato and Quinoa Chili.  I highly recommend the recipe . . . especially the full bottle of pale ale that I added to the recipe.  If you’re not adding wine or beer to chili, then you’re doing it wrong.

While I was tied up in the kitchen, the dogs were left to their own devices.  When they’re not busy sleeping on my clean laundry or barking at invisible boogeymen, they do a pretty good job of entertaining themselves.

Buster slept it off afterwords on a fresh pile of clean laundry.  Pretty sure he’d just been outside rolling around in dirty snow too.
